Lizen@USM HBP 2017/2018

Project 6A: The Dangauan This is a 4 weeks project, which we were individually assigned to design a small, 15 meter square house. And the design has to suit the taste of our given studio master. At first I was really excited, finally a project which I can design a structure. But the result was pretty horrible, I was being slow on the front 3 weeks, joining event and loss focus on the project, which when i realized I was short of time in the last 5 days. Problem occur when I finalised all of drawing into the presentation board, some column or wall just don't match with each other in some drawing, this took me some time. But the the day before submission, the submission date was extended, which I lost my motivation to burn midnight oil... it is only myself to be blamed HAHAHAHAA. It was extended, and i handed uncompleted work. I manage to draw everything with pen including line weight and partially colour it... not so decent. Project 5A The Sardonian Another new project this week, it is something new, which we were divided into 3 group that consist of 16 to 17 members each. We were assigned to conduct a site analysis!! Before this, we just know theoretically how to conduct site analysis from lecture of Human Settlement, and through this project we learn about it practically. Each of us were given different task. I was given the task of counting and measuring some physical features such as trees, residential house, size of drainage etc. This is because my transportation is easier since i had a motorcycle which will make me easier to go forth and back. After that, we arrange all information into 4 A2 size catridge paper and here is it.

Project 4: Cubicless An interesting two- week project was done and it was a big relieve and full of satisfaction. The project was about designing a retractable shelter which its target client is the homeless, adventurer or castrothrophic victims. The design is about a bicycle that can be expand and become a roofed shelter. Additional advantage it brings is its ability to generate electricity through solar panel and dynamo. This project taught me how to fix the size of my shelter in order for it to be suitable to shelter a human. It also train me to draw the plan, elevation and cross section.

Project 3A and 3B -BIOMIMICRY Last week, we were assigned to look for an example of biomimicry structure, draw both its biome and the building. What I choose is the Eden Project It is a giant green house in England that houses species of plant from all over the world. The organism that it refer to is pollen grain. It refer to the pollen grain which is made of hexagonal planes as an idea to build a geodesic dome. Through this project, i learnt about the wonder of this structure. The structure is so light that it is even lighter than the air it contain. I also learnt how to draw using grid method.

Project 2A Last week we were asked to further express ourself through a 3D sculpture. And my idea was about stepping out from comfort zone, breaking into new ground. Then, an image of a tiger breaking through a castle crossed my mind. This i what I'd planned. I was trying to produce a sculpture that is visually and physically geometrical. With edgy shape and what not. Turn out paper clay is not suitable in doing that, and my sculpture turn out to be off from the geometrical shape The castle represent the comfort zone, my house, my school, my friend circle, and a target i set for myself is to do things that i don't used to. This is one of my target.

First project of the sem Title given is "Who Am I?" which require us to present a visual that consist of graphics made out of caligraphy, well, it is actually architecture writing. The visual should express our own identity, personality, emotion, etc, plus why we choosed architecture and why USM. Actually I'm not sure whether I've fulfilled what our studio masters expected... I'll just go ahead and explain the idea of this visual. I think that my identity is contributed by the experiences i had which are a son to my parent, a loyal friend to my BFFs, a waiter, an art teacher and bla bla bla. The Harley Quinn represent my craziness, well, this attribute is only shown at certain occasion. The leopard emphasised the ROARRR inside, my shout out for wanting to be the best of myself. And there are my idols 2NE1 on top, which they teach me to love performing and have passion for stage. Lastly there's a mirror image beneath with buildings at side is written ...
